Privacy policy
This policy applies to the app Tevegram : Telegram for TV, published on Google Play byclapps under the package name cassian.telegram.ooa.pro, and to the same app distributed for Amazon Fire TV devices. It explains what the app does with your data, what leaves your TV, and what does not.
Effective date: 4 September 2026.
In short
- Tevegram is an independent Telegram client for TV. Your messages, media and contacts travel between Telegram's servers and your TV. We do not run a server that stores them.
- The app contains no advertising and we never sell or rent your data.
- We receive crash reports and anonymous usage statistics through Google Firebase, so we can fix bugs and understand which features are used.
- Premium is sold through Google Play or the Amazon Appstore. RevenueCat validates the purchase. We never see your payment details.
Your Telegram account
Tevegram connects to Telegram with the official Telegram Database Library (TDLib). You sign in with your phone number and the code Telegram sends you, or by scanning a QR code with your phone. The sign-in itself is handled by Telegram; the app never sees your Telegram password and does not send your phone number to us.
Chats, messages, photos, videos and files are fetched directly from Telegram's servers to your device. The app keeps a local cache on the TV so that browsing is fast, including an index of the media found in your chats (titles, dates, thumbnails). This cache stays on the device. It is cleared when you log out and removed when you uninstall the app.
Your use of Telegram remains governed byTelegram's own privacy policy.
What we collect
The app uses the following Google Firebase services. None of them receives your phone number, your contacts, the content of your messages or your media.
- Firebase Crashlytics sends a report when the app crashes or hits an internal error: device model, operating system version, app version, the technical trace of the error and a random installation identifier.
- Firebase Analytics records anonymous usage events, such as which screen was opened or which feature was used, together with a pseudonymous app instance identifier, the device type, the country and the language.
- Firebase Remote Config and In-App Messaging let us adjust settings and show occasional in-app announcements. They use the same app instance identifier.
- Firebase Realtime Database stores app configuration and the Premium status of an installation, keyed by a pseudonymous identifier.
These identifiers are generated by the app on your device. They are not your Telegram identity and we cannot link them to your name or phone number.
Purchases
Premium features are bought through Google Play Billing or the Amazon Appstore, which handle payment under their own terms. To unlock the features you paid for, the app usesRevenueCat, which receives the purchase receipt and an anonymous app user identifier. We never receive your card number or billing address.
Permissions the app asks for
- Internet and network state: to talk to Telegram and to the services above.
- Display over other apps: only if you turn on the chat overlay, which shows a conversation on top of whatever you are watching. You can turn it off at any time.
- Foreground service: to keep the Telegram connection alive while the overlay is active.
- Run at startup: to restore the overlay after a reboot when you had enabled it.
The app does not access your location, camera, microphone, contacts stored on the device or other apps' data.
Retention and deletion
- Everything cached by the app on your TV is removed when you log out or uninstall the app.
- Crash reports are kept by Firebase for 90 days, analytics data for up to 14 months, according to Google's default retention.
- Uninstalling the app stops all collection. To ask us to delete the analytics and crash data tied to your installation, write to the address below with the device model and the approximate date you used the app; we will handle it within 30 days.
Children
Tevegram is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Connections to Telegram use Telegram's encrypted MTProto protocol; connections to Firebase and RevenueCat use TLS. No method of transmission is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The current version is always published at this address with its effective date. Significant changes are announced in the app.
